One jailed, several to go

I just realized it’s been ages since I’ve last written anything here. I’ve found my hands full of interesting projects and while I didn’t forget teamfurry.com I found too little time to puke my thoughts onto the blog. I’ve been lurking in the shadows though, watching over the forum.

Anyway, some days ago a botherder called SilenZ was convicted. Gregory King, a.k.a Silenz, sZ and a few other handles, was sentenced to two years in a federal prison.  On top of that, he was ordered to pay $69,000 in restitution for DDOSsing several targets, CastleCops amongst them. Some might argue that SilenZ really wasn’t the brightest puppy in the pack, especially since he logged onto the botnet to commence DDOS attacks from his fathers ADSL line.

I just hope SilenZ had enough time to gather up the “Botherder survival kit” before heading to the penitentiary. A good checklist for such a kit should contain atleast these:

And now to some normal business. I’m currently working on a anti(tracing/debugging/vm/whatever) binary. It’ll be just for showing various tricks out there and to allow you to practice on the tricks safely. I’m also thinking of doing a challenge binary at some point that would utilize the tricks in the binary and some others as well. As I’m a poor sod the winner would get fame at best. Unless someone wants to donate some junk for the prices. No alcohol beverages as prices as they most likely won’t survive to see the winner :)

If you’re interested in either a possible challenge, or if you have a weak moment and want to sponsor, feel free to contact me at toni _at_ teamfurry.com
